Abe Martinez

Abe Martinez is a reporter for KUAR and the local host and anchor for Weekend Edition Sunday. He began his career in broadcasting 28 years ago in the U.S. Army.  Back then he was known as GI Eli, working as a DJ for Armed Forces Radio in Nuremberg, Germany.  (It wasn't anything like Robin Williams' depiction in Good Morning Vietnam.)

Since then, he has worked primarily in radio production and part-time on-air work, especially with non-profit organizations. 
 
Abe is married and has several four-footed "kids."
