Don Haney is a local announcer on KUAR on weekdays and the host of Haney's Jazz, a one-hour program that airs Friday nights at 8 p.m. on KUAR.

Haney's goal is to familiarize Arkansans of all ages and backgrounds with the sounds of jazz and make the music easy to relate to. He focuses mainly on jazz standards, songs with a melody-line and understandable lyrics. Haney views jazz as a uniquely American art form and wants to ensure that an interest in the music remains.

Artists you'll hear regularly on Haney's Jazz include Oscar Peterson, Stan Getz, Lionel Hampton, Diane Schuur, Art Tatum, Ramsey Lewis, Mel Torme, George Benson, Rosemary Clooney, Artie Shaw, Larry Carlton, Tony Bennett and the Marsalis family.

Haney is a veteran broadcaster who has worked in radio and television in Detroit and Canada.
